Our History
Waterhouses has been on Lake Dunmore since 1876, when Loyal N. Waterhouse established his Marina and boat-building operation across from Mount Moosalamoo. Our beautiful Vermont campground hosts 71 campsites nestled along the east side of Sunset Hill. Enjoy ample privacy and the feel of "old time camping," with all the conveniences of today.
Our own 160 acres offer a variety of campsites, from deep wooded and river front sites to open sites that can handle 35 ft. trailers. Hike or bike to the top of Sunset Hill and enjoy our "two-lake view" lunch spot or an unforgettable sunset over the Adirondacks, or relax by the lake and simply do nothing.
Our marina may make that difficult, however – at Waterhouses you can water-ski, sail, kayak, swim, canoe, sunbathe, fish, paddle boat, and more. You name it, we have it – even a putt-putt course! You can also tend to business with High Speed Wireless Internet service throughout the Marina and Camping Area. There's a store and deli, a restaurant and a laundry just down the road in Salisbury and Middlebury is just a few miles away. Our Camp Store will meet your basic needs: Meats, Snacks, Dairy, Ice Cream, Fishing and Camping Supplies, and Sandwiches.
Come back to the way Vermont camping used to be, but with the services of today.
